★ Official rules
Who runs it
The Fright Night Cup is run by Athlete Domains LLC, the maker of Athlete Domains. Questions go to support@appalachaistudios.com.
When
Saturday, October 31, 2026. Five-a-Side starts at 2:00 PM Eastern (18:00 UTC). Pool starts at 4:00 PM Eastern (20:00 UTC).
Check-in for each contest opens 60 minutes before its start and closes at the start. Only players who check in are drawn.
Free to enter
Entry is free. No purchase or payment of any kind is needed to enter, to play or to win, and nothing bought in the game helps you win.
Winning depends on skill. How many people enter changes your chance of a prize.
Who can enter
You must be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher.
Players from every country can enter, except where a contest like this is not allowed by law (it is void there), and except anyone a US company may not pay: residents of countries or regions under comprehensive US sanctions, and anyone on a US government sanctions list.
You need an Athlete Domains account signed in with your email address (guest accounts cannot enter). One account per person.
Athlete Domains LLC and the people who live with its owner cannot win prizes.
How to enter
Open the game at playathletedomains.com/play, tap the Fright Night Cup card, and sign up for either contest or both. Then check in during the hour before each start.
Each bracket holds 64. If more players check in, accounts that had played at least 3 games before signing up get places first, and the rest of the places are drawn at random.
How it is played
Each contest is a single-elimination bracket, drawn at random from the players who checked in. If the field is not a power of two, some players get a bye into the next round. The two semi-final losers play for third place.
Five-a-Side: one player against another, each running a team of five (you control your player on the ball, the rest of your team plays itself). Two two-minute halves. Level at full time: one minute of golden goal. Still level: a penalty shoot-out, five each and then sudden death, taken again if it is still level.
Pool: eight-ball. A shot clock of 45 seconds; letting it run out is a foul and gives your opponent the cue ball in hand. The first break is a coin toss and the break then alternates. One frame decides a match, except the semi-finals, the final and the third-place match, which are first to 2 frames.
Showing up
Your match opens as soon as both players are known. Be in it within 5 minutes or you lose it. If neither player comes, both are out. A shoot-out or the next frame follows straight on: be in it within 2 minutes.
If your connection drops during a match you have 60 seconds to come back; after that the match goes to your opponent. Leaving a match on purpose loses it.
Results and fair play
The game server referees every match, and its result is final. If a fault on our side stops a match, we may replay it.
One entry per person. A second account, or a second address for the same inbox, is disqualified, and a prize is paid only to a person we can confirm.
Play it yourself. Bots, scripts, aim tools and holding back your connection are cheating. The game server keeps a record of how each player’s inputs arrive, and we check it before paying a prize.
We may disqualify anyone who cheats, plays on more than one account, arranges results with another player, uses bugs or outside tools to win, or abuses other players.
Prizes
Five-a-Side: First $100, second $50, third $25
Pool: First $100, second $50, third $25
Prizes are paid in US dollars by PayPal, Venmo (US only) or a digital gift card, never in crypto or in-game items. We email winners at their account address after the contest. To be paid you must reply within 7 days and confirm you meet the rules above. A prize nobody claims in time is not paid. Prizes cannot be transferred. Winners are responsible for any taxes and any fees for receiving or converting the money, and we may ask a winner for a tax form before paying.
Your information
The bracket shows only your player name and athlete. We use your account email only to contact you if you win, and we do not share it.
To stop duplicate entries we keep scrambled codes made from your email and your internet connection when you sign up and check in. They cannot be turned back into either, and we delete them with the contest’s records.
Changes
If something outside our control gets in the way (a server outage, say), we may move, pause or call off a contest, and we will say so on the site and on Discord. Void where prohibited.
